Successful Hyva tender to supply 12m3 compactors for waste collection services in Durban, South Africa
Hyva has won a 3-year tender to supply 12 m3 compactors, as and when required, to Durban Solid Waste (eThekwini Municipality) in South Africa. Durban is South Africa’s third largest city with a population of 3.1 million.
We have a great compactor, it's good to see it combined with Fuso Trucks working on waste collection duties in a busy urban environment.
The first batch of 29 Usimeca ribbed body 12 m3 compactors – installed on Fuso FJ16-230 trucks and customised with bin lifters – were delivered and handed over at a launch event attended by John Henry Bowman, Managing Director of Hyva Southern Africa.

The Usimeca rear loaders supplied in this tender have a body capacity of 12.3 m3, a tailgate capacity of 1.5 m3 and a body length of 5.2 m.
