Community Initiatives

Over the past 21 years, Hyva in India has taken a leading position in the society, not just as a technological and waste management pioneer, but also as a company that cares for the community we are active in.
As part of our commitment to the local communities, Hyva contributed to a number of initiatives that help to create a better future together. Below, we highlight a few of those initiatives.

Bicycles distribution scheme

We have distributed bicycles to the underprivileged students from the Ramakrishna Math School, in Pune District. To ensure a broad access to this project, the outgoing students are committed to hand over the bicycles to the new students.

Environmental awareness

We believe that environmentally sustainable initiatives are the pillars of the future. We have proudly contributed with 11 garbage compactors to the Clean City Initiative - a project created by Adar Poonawalla to improve the conditions of Pune. It is an environmentally sustainable initiative which also supports the Swachha Bharat Mission (Clean India Mission), an initiative by Govt. of India.

Leveraging young talents

We are keen to support underprivileged communities by enhancing their knowledge and learning opportunities - school stationary, books, uniforms and other materials have been offered to a local school in Kolkata. We also fund their monthly operating expenses, as well as the access to a platform of art performances.

Empowering women and children

We have been financially contributing to help Women's Coordinating Council welfare projects - a registered NGO working with underprivileged women and children in Chetla, Kolkata. In 2019 we have been giving Rs. 1.00 lacs quarterly for their non formal school and skill development centre. The beneficiaries are all first generation learners and belong to extremely disadvantaged backgrounds. They provide the children holistic education, life skills and nutritional support.
